2ND VICE PRESIDENT

LETICIA GUNN

Leticia Delatorre Gunn has lived longer in Florida than in her native and beloved Texas.  As a resident of Fort Myers in her 20’s, she fell in love with the paradisiacal lifestyle Florida offered. Leticia moved permanently to Miami in 1999 and quickly delved into the heart of her community. She became a part of various social and civic organizations that fulfilled her need to enact change and action for her community just as she had watched her mother do so.  Gardening has been part of Leticia’s life since she was a child. At a very early age she learned how to graft, air root and grow all kinds of plants from seed or cuttings from her paternal Grandmother. Her vast knowledge of horticulture, botany and plant nomenclature are her secret joys and some would say a superpower!   As an Accredited NGC Flower Show Judge, she has not only judged Flower Shows, but also been the recipient of many top ribbons for her flower design entries. She has served FFGC as Director of District XII and translated the FFGC brochure from English to Spanish. She is the recipient of the 2019 FFGC Leadership Award and Pillard of Pride. She also served as President of Miami Beach Garden Club for four years and led her Club to win many FFGC, Deep South and even NGC awards. Leticia has chaired various notable programs outside of FFGC, but is proud of her most recent Chairmanship of Wekiva Critter Camp and she looks forward to more growth opportunities within FFGC.  Leticia is a self proclaimed Orchid nerd and butterfly mom. She very much enjoys puttering in her garden accompanied by her 125-pound Italian Mastiff, Atticus.  Leticia is excited to bring her well known enthusiasm and never ending quest for growth and knowledge to the position of Second VP for FFGC.

3RD VICE PRESIDENT   MARIA WOLFE

Originally, from North Carolina, Maria Wolfe has lived in Florida for more than 45 years.  Married to Jim Wolfe, they have three daughters, a son-in-love, and two grandsons.  After attending Elon University, Maria enjoyed working  for SunTrust/Truist for 16 years as a Vice President in Corporate Cash Management.  She left corporate America to raise her family and then reentered the work force by becoming the Registrar for the private school where her daughters attended.  She likes to say that she has worked with individuals two most cherished assets:  Their children and their money.

Upon retiring, Maria joined the Wellington Garden Club to learn about cultivating plants in South Florida.  She furthered her education by attending Tropical Short Courses and becoming an NGC Gardening School Consultant.  Her love of children led her to become a volunteer at Wekiva Youth Camp and her passion for gardening led her to serve as President of the Wellington Garden Club from 2021-2023.  During her presidency, the Club won the Nell Coe Award for increased membership and Maria earned the FFGC Leadership Award - #3.

During 2023-2025, Maria served as District Director for District X, where she started two new Garden Clubs and traveled over 3,000 miles visiting Clubs within the District’s seven counties.  She finds great joy in getting to know the members of FFGC and feels encouraged by meeting educated, talented and authentic people who share her love of  gardening, the environment and floral design.  This encouragement has inspired her to serve on the FFGC Board of Directors.

Maria also serves as a Poll Worker and volunteers with EagleWatch and the  Nursery at her church.
