PRESIDENT CHRISTY LINKE "SHARING OUR KNOWLEDGE PLANTS THE SEEDS OF TOMORROW"
Christy Linke has been a member of the Plant City Garden Club since 2007. She and her husband Larry retired from Law Enforcement and moved to Florida. From her first garden club meeting, she became actively involved, serving as President for two terms and an additional year, Secretary, and Corresponding Secretary, among other roles. Her initial engagement with the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) was through volunteering at Camp Wekiva in the 7th-grade Primitive program, which she has supported for 18 years, including two years as Camp Chairman (2022-2023). Christy takes great pride in her accomplishment of becoming a Master Flower Show Judge. She began taking NGC Gardening School classes and is eager to pursue more FFGC/NGC educational opportunities. Christy has served as Secretary for the Florida Federation State Judges (FFSJ). Under Al Latina she was also Chairman of the 2020 Convention that was cancelled due to the Covid Pandemic. In 2011, Christy was appointed as the FFGC Bees, Birds, and Butterflies Chairman, marking the beginning of her journey with the organization. She served as District VIII Director representing 23 clubs under Claudia Bates from 2017 to 2019 and was subsequently invited to serve as the FFGC 3rd Vice President. Serving as FFGC Finance Chairman, Strategic Planning Committee, Headquarters and Endowment, Bylaws, as well as several sub committees. Christy spends her spare time gardening, making cards, working with Jr. Gardeners at The Jackson Elementary School in Plant City and first and foremost spending time With my 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Jordyn, Bryce, Cade, and Olivia and two sons, Jason and Mark, who all live in Tennessee. It is with great honor that Christy looks forward to serving as President of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. the next two years.
