FLORIDA FEDERATION of GARDEN CLUBS, INC.  MISSION STATEMENT

Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. promotes the love of gardening, floral and landscape design, civic and environmental responsibility by providing education, resources and networking opportunities for our members, youth and the community.

A charter member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. and a member of Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., FFGC now has over 150 community-based in the state of Florida and nearly 10,000 members — and growing. Our members belong to their local garden clubs, located in every corner of Florida, and range from inquisitive budding gardeners to knowledgeable veterans with many decades of experience who are dedicated to serving their local communities through beautification projects, sending local youth to Camp Wekiva, and serving as environmental leaders at the local level. We encourage you to find a club in your area.

The Florida Gardener is the official publication of the FFGC.  Issued as a online quarterly magazine to over 10,000 FFGC members located throughout the entire state, affiliate members, other state and regional garden club federations, public libraries in Florida, and followed by Florida cultural and botanical gardens and garden centers.  Please visit the page for details on submission deadlines and advertising.

WILDFLOWER LICENSE TAG

You may not know that FFGC was behind the establishment of the Florida State Wildflower license plate. The first plates rolled off in 1999; however, the effort took several years in the making.  Of course, the tag features the Coreopsis, our state wildflower.

$15 from every purchase and renewal of the State Wildflower license tag is donated to the Florida Wildflower Foundation (an affiliate and consistent advertiser in The Florida Gardener).  They use those funds to sponsor education, grants, and research.

  SINCE 1999, PROCEEDS HAVE REACHED $6 MILLION. As FFGC members, you may want to get the tag if you don't have it already. Just buy it at your local DMV which now handles many things online.
